Background
The power consumption of 5G base stations is 3-4 times that of 4G, and the energy storage demand has been greatly increased. Efficient management technology is urgently needed. Operators need to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions, promote battery cascade utilization and clean energy integration. The base stations are widely distributed and the environment is complex. The traditional manual inspection mode is costly and slow in response. Overcharge/overdischarge and improper temperature control lead to reduced battery life and high replacement costs. Battery thermal runaway and environmental abnormalities (high temperature/flooding) can easily cause fire or downtime. Lack of intelligent dispatching strategies, inability to coordinate with power grids/photovoltaics, and high electricity bills.

Base station energy storage management solution
Through deployment and installation of multi-parameter sensors (voltage/temperature/internal resistance), 4G industrial IoT switches, environmental monitoring and other equipment. Adopt 4G cellular network to ensure stable data transmission. The Huawo IoT Cloud Platform integrates modules such as battery health assessment, fault diagnosis, and energy efficiency optimization. Set charge and discharge thresholds, alarm rules, and link power grid/photovoltaic dispatching strategies. Predict battery failures in advance based on historical data. Combined with peak and valley periods of electricity price (such as 0.3 yuan/kWh trough charging) and load fluctuations, the charging and discharging modes are automatically switched. Through the centralized management of thousands of sites through the Huawo IoT Cloud Platform, firmware can be upgraded in batches remotely.
